I LOVE LOVE STORIES.

While we have heard a lot about unsuccessful marriages, it is often a rare and a beautiful privilege to meet two persons who are working at it DAILY thereby showing us (the unmarried) that it can be done. It’s good to know we have good examples to learn from.

HERE’s to the Udoro and Stella, who have been on the journey for TWO years.

The dear Husband took out time to write a love letter to his wife, and since we love love stories, we thought it beautiful to share. We wish them a happy married life. 

HAVE YOU MET MY WIFE?

There was a time in my life that the thought of marriage was unwelcome. From other people’s experiences, I never saw how marriage was going to make my life better, so why was I going to jump from frying pan to fire.

One day, my life was interrupted.

When I met my Stella, it was like any other day. Of course, I never had the slightest idea that our conversation would last a week, let alone lead to mar….. I was fine on my own, (or so I thought).

But the conversations we had altered my mindset. I knew I’ve found The One.

I called her:

‎Unobtainium 
/ʌnəbˈteɪnɪəm/
(noun) ‎- Extremely rare, costly, or impossible material, or that which is needed to fulfil a given design for a given application.

Stella was a rare type.

Fast forward, today marks two years since our journey began. With each passing day, it becomes clearer how blessed I am to have a wife like Stella. Now I understand what it means to have a help meet for me; a suitable helper she is, indeed. A maker of our home. She’s the most brilliant, resourceful and creative woman in the world.

She is the most beautiful woman on the planet. (come and beat me  )

Haha! I thought I was fine on my own until I met someone who taught me a thing or two. Everything about her has made me a better person. Sometimes I just stare at her and wonder ‘what did I do to deserve someone like you’. Her strengths highlight my weaknesses, and her weaknesses help me appreciate my strengths; we dovetail perfectly, a perfect team, made up of two imperfect learners.

Yes, it’s a learning experience. We’ve learnt quite some things.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learnt, in a nutshell, is “Happy wife; Happy life”.

I’ve also learnt that peace with your wife is more important than the desire or need to be right. Trust me, I’ve learnt this from experience. You can’t put a price on peace of mind.

I love you, Stella. I appreciate you. Thank you for being supportive, for helping me out in my work when I’m tired. Thank you for cooking for me and cleaning our house (I’ll try not to walk around when you’re mopping the floor, (I cannot come and die o)) thank you for doing the laundry 99% of the time. Thank you for the things you do that I don’t even notice, I’ll try to be more observant. Thank you for correcting me when I mispronounce words, you saved me the embarrassments. Thank you for teaching me things I never knew. Thank you for making me feel like a superhero. Thank you for understanding. Thank you, for loving me.

It’s been a fulfilling 2 years.
